The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast Colorado

  Eastern New Mexico

  Oklahoma Panhandle

  West Texas including the Panhandle



* Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 350 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are beginning to form over eastern New

Mexico.  These storms will progress eastward through the afternoon

and evening, posing a risk of very large hail, damaging winds, and

perhaps a tornado or two.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles east and west of a line from 15 miles northeast of

Springfield CO to 55 miles south southeast of Lubbock TX. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
